Black and White Photography

Bridge and groom laughing during ceremony

I have a passion for black and white photography, especially when photographing weddings and families.

When I look back on family photos, especially those of my grandparents, most if not all were in black and white. A well crafted black and white photo can become timeless and transcend generations. Looking at some of them, they could have been shot yesterday.

There is certainly a place for colour too. I tend to let the image dictate my decision in the final edit to ensure I deliver a collection that has a solid mixture of both.

It is my job as a wedding and family photographer to make sure the photos I take are well exposed, make good use of natural light, are well composed and tell a story. This is the same whether I’m shooting colour or black and white.

Here’s a selection of some of my most recent favourites.

Thanks so much for visiting and taking the time to read this post. Are you looking for a wedding or family photographer? If so please do reach out via my contact page.
